New form of health support from the angles of medical care, exercise, and nutrition, linked by nationally certified dietitians
At the SUGI Pharmacy Hayashiji Store, nationally certified dietitians provide nutritional counseling in cooperation with the clinic and fitness club housed on the second floor of the store. In this new initiative to support health from the three angles of medical care, exercise, and nutrition, we provide individualized guidance to patients who have been encouraged by their clinic doctor to receive nutritional guidance, using their blood and body composition data. In addition, at the fitness club, we regularly hold events on themes such as dementia prevention and muscle loss, helping to raise health awareness among local residents. Providing comprehensive health support through the store, we are striving to establish a future healthcare model.

Providing support for breast cancer patients
As part of the Pink Ribbon Movement to raise awareness for the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer, we present medical wigs to up to 100 breast cancer patients each year.
Wig Sales and Appearance Care Initiatives
We have previously held periodic event-based sales at our flagship stores. Today, we have created an environment where customers can try on wigs at designated stores anytime. Through detailed consultations, we help customers feel comfortable with wigs while contributing to appearance care and improving the quality of life (QOL) for patients suffering from side effects of chemotherapy and other treatments. Additionally, online reservations are available to ensure a seamless experience.
Health promotion seminars by the Sugiura Memorial Foundation
In collaboration with the SUGI Pharmacy Group, the Sugiura Memorial Foundation holds health promotion seminars in its store locations nationwide, with the aim of deepening the understanding of the latest medical care and disease prevention among local elderly people and their families. In addition to early detection and treatment of illnesses, these seminars are implemented in various locations as opportunities to make preventive care and dementia prevention more accessible to the public. In FY2025, the organization held a seminar four times a year at a total of 28 venues in Aichi, Tokyo, Saitama, Osaka, and Ishikawa, with a total of 9,097 participants. This initiative contributes to improving the health of communities, including raising health awareness.

Background of the establishment of the Sugiura Memorial Foundation
In September 2011, when the SUGI Pharmacy Group celebrated the 35th anniversary of its establishment, the Sugiura Community Healthcare Promotion Foundation was established, with Hirokazu Sugiura and Akiko Sugiura, who had established SUGI Pharmacy, as the organization’s founders, in the hope that they could reciprocate the support extended by local residents so far and be of use as much as possible by contributing to society. In July 2015, the foundation was certified as a public service corporation and renamed the Sugiura Memorial Foundation. Not only does it continue to support individuals and organizations that work toward realizing a comprehensive community care system, but the foundation also contributes to society extensively in the fields of dementia and preventive care.
